This is a great opportunity to join our high-performing & growing team. You will be a pivotal part of our recently formed global Category Management function, created to shape new ways of working, playing a key role in bringing amazing new products and experiences to market and ultimately driving our LEGO® Retail business!, The Category Management & Promotions team is at the heart of ensuring we have an ever-stronger shopper-value proposition, leveraging our LEGO® products, to ensure the success of our global, omni-channel, direct-to-consumer LEGO® Retail business., As a global, Senior Category Manager you will support our Category Management & Promotions team to drive strategic decisions within our existing and future product lines. You will collaborate effectively across multiple teams in LEGO® Retail as well as our Product and Marketing Development function to drive brand impact, revenue and profitability, and deliver the ultimate experience in LEGO branded channels. Residing within global LEGO® Retail & Experience Marketing, you will build comprehensive key shopper insights and help devise long-term development strategies to maximize consumer appeal, optimize existing offerings and identify potential risks/opportunities reporting to our Global Director of Category Management. In your role, you will:

  • Be accountable for an assigned group/category of products, helping to inform part of the LEGO® Retail Category Strategy across Owned Channels, delivering enhanced performance, operational efficiency and supporting the LEGO® Retail growth journey in your given area.
  • Collaborate effectively within a wider team of LEGO Retail Category Managers, engaging with other key marketing and functional experts (including promotions, membership and demand planners) to develop robust audience and category plans
  • Responsible for in-depth category and shopper insights and understanding on a micro and macro level analyzing category/segment performance using customer, consumer, shopper and macro environment data and sources.
  • Devise market penetration plans and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and profit.
  • Contribute to maximizing the value and impact of the LEGO® Retail Marketing through our Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), category investments to support long-term brand building and short-term revenues
  • Lead projects to optimize category performance and drive category improvements (Margin and Consumer Sales).
  • Drive market research, monitor competitive activity and analyse data, to identify and better serve shopper (parent, gift-giver, member) and audience needs.
  • Be a reliable partner for product portfolio strategic choices, developing recommendations including on our optimal pricing, placement, placement and product mix.
  • Play your part in our team succeeding LEGO® Retail Marketing is at the heart of delivering hyper-relevant retail shopper campaigns to create the pinnacle LEGO® Brand experience across our Branded Sales Channels. It is a global brand-led creativity and innovation powerhouse which bring to life the LEGO® Group mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow. This pivotal role supports LEGO® Retail in this mission by driving the strongest product plans to drive inspiration, discoverability and conversion, driving Active Base of our shoppers and consumers.

    The ideal candidate holds a bachelor / master's degree preferably in marketing/international business, and proven track record working in category management, business insights, planning or relevant consulting/business development roles; together with extensive experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment. Furthermore, commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles, working in a global business with strong multi-cultural teams, encouraging strong relationships, team spirit and culture. The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
  • Advanced analytical skills, data-driven ways of working with experience utilizing corporate data platforms and dashboards to provide in depth analysis, insight and reporting
  • Solution-driven and result-oriented approach
  • Relevant professional experience in category management, business insights, project/portfolio management, marketing or relevant consulting/business development roles
  • Effective influencer and natural collaborator with a strong track record of successful stakeholder management
  • Comfortable presenter, able to tell a compelling story through rigorous data and insights
  • Proven track record working in a global business with strong multi-cultural teams, fostering positive relationships, team spirit and culture.
  • Advanced English language skills, both written and oral
  • It will be an advantage if you bring:
  • Experience in trade or sales
  • In-depth knowledge & passion for Toy Category
  • Broad knowledge of merchandising and retail supply and operations topics and good knowledge of other functional areas involved in the Category processes
  • End-to-End understanding of the product creation process and support the Product Development team with metrics and insights
  • Experience leveraging specific corporate data platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Adobe Analytics) and extensive use of Microsoft office programs (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • A hunger for learning and desire to elevate our marketing activation within our LEGO® Retail business
