West Yorkshire Police are seeking three exceptional individuals to join our newly established Procurement team.

As a Senior Category Manager, you will provide an essential leadership role, developing and managing commercial strategies and practices for particular areas of spend as well as providing professional advice on procurement matters to senior customers to ensure that West Yorkshire Police are achieving value for money and added value in all commercial activities.
Key categories of spend include (but not limited to)
- IT (Software & Hardware)
- Estates (includes; Facilities Management, Energy, Construction)
- Fleet
- People & Professional Services (includes; Contingent labour, Consultancy, Financial Services, Recruitment, Organisational Development)
- Operational (includes; Forensic Services, Operational Support, Crime), Develop and deliver procurement strategies for particular categories of spend ensuring all commercial activities support the delivery of the strategic objectives of West Yorkshire Police and the Mayor.
- Ensure commercial activities deliver and demonstrate value for money and drive efficiency - ensuring cashable and non cashable savings are evidenced throughout the life of the contract
- Lead and manage complex, high value and high risk procurement activities
- Manage contract reviews ensuring KPIs and customer requirements are met or exceeded.
- Develop and manage sustainable procurement strategies and develop action plans to deliver.
- Provide excellent customer service to all parties.
- Lead, manage and develop a team of Category Managers., Interviews are currently scheduled to take place in person at Wakefield on the 10th, 11th and 14th October, please ensure you are available for at least one of these dates.

Hold a Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Diploma qualification and full corporate membership (MCIPS) and/or can demonstrate equivalent level knowledge and experience
- Experience of managing all aspects of high value category management and delivery of efficiencies.
- Excellent knowledge and application of Public Procurement legislation with the ability to provide professional advice.
- Experience of mentoring, managing and developing staff.
