Full Job Description

(This is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract) Working collaboratively within Rotork, we have an exciting opportunity for a Certification engineer specialising in electronics / electrical approvals for a one-year placement. Working across engineering you will assess conformity and certifications arising as a result of hardware / firmware upgrades to our electric products. The role is placed within the certification department at Rotork Bath, UK and is supported by the Principal Certification Engineer. You'll be responsible for maintaining and refining the information required for certifications such as ATEX / FM / CSA etc for us to ensure our products are safe and to meet our global market access requirements. Compiling document packages, interpretation of the standards and regulations, coordinating test activities and working with various departments across the business will provide you with a varied and open role at Rotork. There are also opportunities to become involved with external standards development activities, which Rotork positively encourages. The ideal candidate will champion knowledge sharing, have a keen eye for detail and work best when collaborating with a wider team.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Firmware or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable problem solving using a variety of techniques.
  • Previous industrial design experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Proven experience of analysing, designing, testing, debugging, manufacture and enhancing existing / new products used in an industrial environment.
  • Experience of task management, defect management, verification and validation tools.
  • Use of the Microsoft toolset - for technical documentation.
  • Understanding of a variety of electronic principles (Power / Motor / Internal systems / Micro controllers etc)
  • Experience of working with third party Certification Bodies or experience with conformity assessment to international standards- FM / CSA / UL / IEC / EN
  • Experience with EMC testing and assessment would be helpfull.
