Full Job Description

  • Supervise and engage with children in a nursery setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Communicate effectively with children, providing guidance and support to encourage positive behaviour.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring that all toys are equipment are safe and suitable for use.
  • Manage daily routines including meals, naps, and playtime while maintaining a structured environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children and their families through regular communication and updates on their child's progress.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the childcare area to ensure a safe play environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding junior staff or volunteers in childcare practices.
  • To carry out role of Designated Safeguarding Person in the absence of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • To work alongside the senior management team to uphold compliance to OFSTED standards.

    We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Senior Childcare Practitioner to join our team. The Ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess the skills necessary to create a safe, engaging and educational environment. This role involves managing daily activities, providing care and fostering the development of children in a nursery setting. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effectively interacting with children and their families., Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
  • A genuine passion for childcare and the ability to drive children's learning through play-based activities.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and trust among colleagues and families alike.
  • Ideally would suit an experienced Level 3 looking to progress into a Senior position.
