AXIS is seeing a Senior Claims Operations Technician , International Claims to join our Claims Shared Services team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational activities that support the daily functioning of our Claims Department for International claims. This role will provide operational support and act as a main point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. This role will also support and oversee operational activities managed by offshore resources including the day-to-day queries and process improvements required to maintain and support the International Claim Team. Key skills and traits for this role is an individual who a results-driven team player with a can-do mindset.

The successful candidate will be keen to ensure data accuracy, eagerly dig into problem solve queries and escalations with end-user applications, and actively participate in change activities like London Market reform and SME initiatives. This role is integral to maintaining efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement within our organization, contributing significantly to our collective success. You will have experience of the London Market, Bureau processes to include the role of Xchanging is an advantage.

What will you do in this role?

  • Facilitate and support the oversight and management of offshored processes (e.g. FNOL, payment requisitions, financial updates, third party fee payments, sanction checks, claim history reporting, bordereaux processing etc.)

  • Keep abreast of daily queries and escalations, month-end, and quarterly reporting deadlines.

  • Assist with internal audits and support resulting recommendations or remediation implementation.

  • Assist with system developments and enhancements, tracking and reporting on changes, owning delivery dates.

  • Support the oversight of third-party business partners and the monitoring of outsource contracts (e.g. DXC Delegated Lead Claims, Express Bordereaux and Static Claims) to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

  • Create and maintain tracking of claim information and queries, e.g., spreadsheets and logs

  • Maintain regular updates to key claim handling and procedural documents

  • Assist and participate in specific projects e.g., Faster Claims Payments, Blueprint 2 etc.,

  • Provide operational support and guidance to Claim Handlers and work to resolve queries related to claims applications, processes, financial discrepancies etc.

  • Provide assistance with Claims Adjusters' requests.

  • Assign Event Coding and process exceptional Syndicate Claims Messages (SCM's) and Underwriting Syndicate Messages (USM's) that are referred onshore by the Offshore Team.

  • Ensure data quality and record accurate information in accord with strict Company deadlines and consistent with the AXIS Data Policy.

  • Provide system and application support to include User Acceptance Testing (UAT) andMarket Acceptance Testing (MAT), as required.

  • Be responsible for activities necessary to maintaincompliance with Company policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements (PRA,FCA and Lloyd's Minimum Standards)

  • Promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived risks or failures to existing activity or control measures.

  • Develop detailed understanding and usage of internal and market systems (e.g. DOCOsoft, IRIS, RiskWrite, CRS, ECF2 and IMR).

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and engage with internal and external business partners e.g., Claims Adjusters, Business Technology Solutions, Internal and External Audit, Finance, Operations, Change and system service providers (e.g. DOCOsoft).

  • Support and help drive and mentor teammates and develop ongoing training and development of the Claims function to drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency ensuring processes meet the business requirements.

  • You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

    Experience working within a Lloyd's / London Market Insurer with proven experience in Specialty markets and a good understanding of associated claims processes, procedures, and systems.

  • Ability to accomplish tasks in a dynamic environment with an aptitude for analysing data and making practical and forward-looking decisions to drive success.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability and experience supporting strategic initiatives impacting key stakeholders and reporting to senior management.

  • Experience working on cross functional teams, collaborating, actively participating, and delivering solutions.

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills including the ability to analyze and interpret financial and claims data.

  • Proven prioritization skills with the ability to balance both the immediate needs with broader organizational strategies.

  • The ability to issue spot and escalate issues that could present challenges to a project or the organization.

  • Willingness to assume additional responsibilities and undertake professional qualifications for personal and professional growth.

  • Good conflict resolution skills to effectively deal with people with differing expectations and viewpoints and to build strong cross functional relationships and partnerships.

  • Strong knowledge of and skills in use of various software and insurance platforms and claims systems as well as Word and Excel. Power BI is an asset.

  • Ability to work in a Hybrid environment, in the office 3 days per week.
