Senior Claims Executive

The position is responsible for handling claims across all insurance markets (P&I, FD&D, H&M, LOH, War, K&R, SOL, etc) as well as commercial disputes that fall outside insurance cover., Responsible for handling P&I claims from inception to completion independently or with minimal supervision from the Head, Insurance & Claims.
Responsible for handling H&M claims. Liaising with AET, MISC Marine, H&M brokers, underwriters and adjusters in handling of H&M and LOH claims from inception to completion with minimal supervision from Head, Insurance & Claims. Responsible for timely and full collections of recoveries.
Handling FD&D, War, K&R, SOL, etc claims in liaison with the Head, Insurance & Claims.
Provide emergency and out of office (weekdays, public holiday and weekend cover) support to business.
Provide advice to HR Sea, HSSE, chartering, operations and post-fixture departments on various claims related and commercial issues.
Liaising with P&I Clubs in regard to claims and responding to general claims queries.
Engaging and managing external advisers (experts, surveyors, adjusters, lawyers) as required.
Maintenance of AET Claims Database.
Chasing up all outstanding claims documentation and other general claims administration.
Processing claims debit/credit notes.
Assisting with any ad hoc tasks required to be undertaken by the department as directed by the Head, Insurance & Claims.
Comply with Company's policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE)

Education: Specifically related degree preferably in shipping studies.
Experience: Specifically in marine claims/ insurance environment (P&I Club, Shipowner etc)
Specialized knowledge: At least three (3) years in marine insurance/claims/maritime law environment. Solid working knowledge of shipping law. Experience handling P&I claims. Experience handling H&M claims. Strong ability to multitask. Strong ability to work with minimal degree of supervision. Commercial and cultural awareness
Skills and Abilities: Strong organisational and interpersonal skills. Advanced business writing and communication skills
