Full Job Description

Are you an experienced leader in Domestic Services with a passion for maintaining high standards and ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment? Join our team at Compass Group as a Senior Domestic Supervisor, where you will play a key role in supporting the Domestic Services team, ensuring excellent service delivery, compliance with health and safety regulations, and fulfilling our commitment to patients and staff.,

  • Investigate and resolve audit failures, taking appropriate actions and ensuring corrective measures are in place.
  • Collate and report information for Trust monitoring audits, evidencing actions taken.
  • Create and manage staff rotas and other documentation to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Supervisory team, providing support and resolving queries.
  • Monitor and assess Supervisory team performance, particularly in relation to audits.
  • Conduct probationary reviews for all new starters and ensure all staff are trained to the correct standards.
  • Proactively fulfil contractual requirements, managing sickness effectively in line with Compass Group and client policy.
  • Perform inspections to maintain high standards, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, and report feedback to the Domestic Manager.
  • Lead by example with personal grooming, punctuality, and uniform standards, ensuring the same throughout your team.
  • Handle customer/patient complaints promptly and take action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure the safe and proper use of equipment in accordance with regulations and company policy.
  • Report and document any accidents or near misses, completing the necessary processes.
  • Train and develop staff, ensuring compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and skills training requirements.
  • Foster strong communication and relationships within your team, colleagues, and customers.
  • Support other Medirest departments as required by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to company and client policies.

    o Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external customers.
  • o Experience in explaining technical issues, assessing training needs, and providing clear instruction. o Knowledge of cleaning techniques, gained through experience and training. o Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with an understanding of team dynamics and roles. o Excellent organisational skills to manage the day-to-day operations of the Domestic Services team, adapting for unplanned absences. o Ability to make independent decisions that are critical to effective service delivery. o Experience in planning and managing personal work, working to targets, and adapting to unpredictable, service-led situations. o Understanding of Health & Safety regulations, with experience in making compliance-related judgements. o Strong understanding of Manual Handling and Infection Control practices.
  • Desirable:
  • + o Familiarity with computer systems like V-Nexus, Ourtime, and the Hiring Hub. o Previous experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting.
