Full Job Description

Do you have an interest in culturally adapted therapies? We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced psychological therapist/psychologist to join our therapy team with a specific remit to develop and improve access for people from culturally diverse backgrounds. You will be part of the Primary Care Mental Health Team which is a multidisciplinary service that works closely with GP practices to help service users who may have previously fallen in the gaps between NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) and community mental health services. The role involves direct assessment and therapy, as well as joint working, training and supervision for the wider MDT. There are also opportunities to facilitate groups and to have a role in developing our groups offer. One day/week will be dedicated to a specific project with Beeston Primary Care Network (PCN) working with the community to improve access to psychological help and support.

We are committed to high quality professional leadership, equality, diversity and inclusion and supporting staff wellbeing and CPD. Our Psychological Professions Strategy outlines our vision. We are proud of the positive and supportive culture in the service, as evidenced by staff feedback.

Please watch our short video about one element of the service in primary care: https://youtu.be/fAwaE58xIkE, We are looking to recruit someone working 22.5 hours per week, with experience, knowledge and skills of working with a range of mental health difficulties, such as complex trauma, psychosis, interpersonal difficulties, and self-harm. Equally important are consultation and leadership skills and the ability to develop innovative practice. We are looking for people who can contribute to the vision for the service, working closely with colleagues in different parts of the system, including NHS and voluntary sector partners.

The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is the main provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services in Leeds. As a teaching trust with strong links to local universities, we are a centre of excellence for teaching, research and development.

There are many benefits of working for LYPFT including fantastic employee wellbeing support, 27 - 33 days annual leave, flexible working and remote working arrangements, the NHS Pension Scheme, coaching, support and opportunities for career development and training and education support alongside a range of exclusive discounts and payment schemes including for cars, extra leave days and more NHS Discount Offers.
