Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Haematology Department at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, part of the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Foundation trust for a Senior Clinical Fellow post from August 2025 for 12 months with potential to extend by another 12 months., The applicants will be expected to work with the multi-disciplinary teams on the ward, supporting the consultants and providing supervision to resident doctors. The successful appointee will gain experience of both malignant and non-malignant haematology, and will have access to regular education sessions and morphology teaching.

Barnet Hospital is a large district general hospital with inpatient beds, and Chase Farm Hospital is primarily an outpatient site. Malignant haematology services for the whole trust are provided by the Barnet and Chase Farm haematology team, which also provides non-malignant haematology services. The appointee will participate in delivery of clinical, laboratory, diagnostic, administrative, research and teaching responsibilities. The successful applicant must have an interest in Haematology and acute medicine with experience in management of patients for at least 2 years. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to pursue a career in haematology and develop the skills and experience required for this.

Ideally the candidates must have GMC registration. In its absence, the department will support registration through the MTI scheme via Royal College of Physicians.

The post is full-time unbanded with working hours between Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 and would be suitable for Haematology trainees at ST3+ level.

Candidates will be expected to participate in in a 1:4 rota, and the activities and assessments are as provided in the updated curriculum for haematology training published by the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board.

Ideally the candidates must have GMC registration. In its absence, the department will support registration through the MTI scheme via Royal College of Physicians.
