Full Job Description

This post combines Obstetrics and Gynaecology and involves working on call (1:9). The duties cover the full clinical range of Obstetric & Gynaecology activities, but time will be allocated for protected sessions in beyond the Pregnancy Care, Premature Birth Prevention and Supportive Obstetrics SITMs curricula.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice., Essential

  • Clinical training and experience Essential
  • O & G experience in a Registrar post for at least 3 years

  • UK experience in Registrar level
  • Ability Essential
  • Exhibits and has references acknowledging ability and skills commensurate with experience stated above and with career goals, and should include skills in dealing with specific situations (e.g. handling Obstetric emergencies appropriately, counselling and treating upset patients and their relatives). References must demonstrate training progress.
  • Communication skills - to be clear, fluent and articulate in communication in English.

  • Basic RCOG Log Book and Personal Development File available for inspection., Exhibits and has references confirming progressive acquisition of knowledge specific to career goals. Understands the importance of risk management, the audit cycle, and continuing education., Is willing, able and has the skill to collate and record information and communicate in writing with other professionals. Exhibits good time management and diligence, i.e. answers bleep and arrives for duties promptly, helps colleagues, Able to work effectively with colleagues and members of the health team. Must be able to work as part of a team. Able to form a caring and communicative relationship with the patient.
