Full Job Description

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint Senior Clinical Fellows in Anaesthesia, with commencement dates in February 2025. The tenure of all posts is 24 months. The posts do not attract a National Training Number. The posts are based within the existing teams with access to departmental teaching and other developmental opportunities. Despite not being recognised as 'training posts' they allow doctors to improve the breadth and depth of their experience in Anaesthetics. We are very supportive of those considering the CESR route and have had several fellows be successful in this process. Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required., The Anaesthetic services are split across two sites; and are one of 3 major trauma centres in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Whilst in post there will be plenty of opportunity to become involved in teaching, audit, and research. The department run local courses for both the primary and final FRCA and strongly encourage clinical fellows to take part in those as needed.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of local hospital and community services for people in Sheffield, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield, including cancer, spinal cord injuries, renal and cardiothoracic services. In addition to community health services, the Trust comprises five of Yorkshire's best known teaching hospitals.
