Full Job Description

Trust Clinical Fellow (post-CCT) in Cardiac Radiology, based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The post is open to post CCT radiologists for a period of 6 months, renewable up to 12 months. There is a possibility of a substantive consultant post being advertised in the future.
Most of the studies will involve Cardiothoracic Imaging with a particular focus on cardiac CT and MRI imaging. An enthusiasm to pursue research would also be desirable.
The candidate will have dedicated cardiac CT sessions in support of the cardiothoracic caseload, as well some input into reporting thoracic CT. In addition to cardiac-related imaging, there will also be some sessional contribution to the more general workload of the department e.g. hot CT and plain film. The timetable is structured to provide adequate opportunity for the reporting of complex cases as well as preparing for relevant Multidisciplinary Meetings and Audit.
The Royal Bournemouth Hospital is one of the largest cardiac centres in the UK and provides a broad range of cardiac services including PCI, coronary angiography, echocardiography (inc. 3D), and electrophysiology services. Cardiac CT and MRI is based in radiology and there are excellent working relationships between the cardiology and radiology departments. The department performs over 1300 cardiac CT examinations and over 1300 cardiac MRI examinations per year (approx. 70% adenosine stress)., To understand the role in more detail please read the full job description and person specification documents which are attached to this advert.
