Full Job Description
Duties will include ward work and ward rounds, theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, endoscopy, administrative work e.g. discharge summaries in the absence of Consultant and teaching junior staff. The successful candidate will participate in the general surgery registrar on-call rota, currently at a frequency of 1:18. They will be overseen by the consultant on-call. UHCW is a large trauma centre and the post holder will be involved in working collaboratively with other trauma-related specialties to care for trauma patients including initial assessment, planning and subsequent care. Knowledge and experience in managing trauma patients is essential.
Upon starting the post, the successful candidate will have a nominated Educational Supervisor. It is expected that a preliminary meeting to be arranged by the post holder with the Educational Supervisor to discuss about their learning agreement.The post is ideally suited for doctors who needs support for completion of Certificate of Eligiibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), where there are gaps in their training such as endoscopy training and require guidance with their application.
