Full Job Description

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Fellow in the Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.
This post is intended to support the development of senior trainees who wish to pursue a career as a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon.
The new appointment will be expected to participate in the adult and paediatric trauma on call registrar rota at the Royal Sussex County hospital (Major Trauma Centre) and must demonstrate competence in the management of major adult and paediatric trauma.
Possession of FRCS (T&O) or equivalent and current ATLS is a requirement for the post.
Post available from April 2025 to August 2025 for a period of 6 months., The clinical duties of the post include the following:
+ Day to Day Care of Paediatric Orthopaedic Inpatients
+ Supervised surgical care in paediatric elective and trauma list (expected to function at a senior level)
+ Supervised participation in outpatient elective, specialist clinic and fracture clinics
+ Department activities including teaching and training, MDT, audit & governance meetings, research.
+ On Call Commitment: The new appointment will be expected to participate in the adult and paediatric trauma on call registrar rota at the Royal Sussex County hospital as part of the bespoke rota.
