The duties of this post are equivalent to Speciality Registrar ST3+ level., As a Senior Clinical Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in patient care, working collaboratively with senior and junior stroke fellows, neurology trainees, and advanced clinical practitioners. Supported by experienced consultants with accessible supervision, you will be empowered to work with a degree of autonomy, enhancing your clinical expertise and decision-making skills. In addition to your work on the Hyperacute Stroke Unit, you will have regular responsibilities in managing patients presenting with stroke/transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and other neurological conditions. The role also includes participation in the on-call rota, currently a 1-in-5 weekend commitment, with compensatory time off during the week. Our department places a strong emphasis on clinical research, teaching, and quality improvement, making this an ideal role for candidates keen to develop their academic or leadership profile. We actively participate in NIHR Stroke Portfolio studies, offering a wealth of research opportunities to get involved in. You will be encouraged and supported to contribute to audits, quality improvement projects, and teaching activities within the department. Opportunities to engage in clinical trials and other research initiatives will be available, providing a platform to develop your research skills and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in stroke care.

• Registered with the GMC with a licence to practise. (Includes demonstration of English language competence to GMC defined IELTS/ OET standard).
• Basic Medical Degree (MBChB)
• MRCP or equivalent
• Completion of at least 2 years post foundation training
• Valid Advance Life Support (ALS) Certificate by the date of the application

• Competence in thrombolysis or thrombectomy decisions making
• Further NHS clinical experience particularly in Stroke

• Recognition of, and ability to undertake the initial management of, an acutely ill patient. Completion of ALS/ATLS or equivalent.
• Successful completion of foundation years training or equivalent.

• If the Primary Medical Qualification including clinical contact was not carried out using English, applicants must either: o Have an academic IELTS score of at least 7.0 in each domain and an overall score of 7.5 within the same test to meet the GMC's requirements or o Complete the medical Occupational English Test (OET) and achieve grade B in each of the four domains tested to meet the GMC's requirements
