Full Job Description

The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) building, with just Fracture Clinic being on the Acute Site (Warrington) and Trauma lists.
The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of existing Consultants, Registrars / ST's, Trust Grade doctors, Surgical Care Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Trauma Co-Ordinators, to provide a complete Trauma & Orthopaedic service.
The appointee will be expected to participate fully in the provision of Trauma and District General Hospital services to the residents of Warrington & Halton and surrounding areas. The appointee will be employed on a 40 hour contract duties of which will include outpatient clinics, operating theatre lists and administration., The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Captain Sir Tom Moore (CSTM) building, with just Fracture Clinic being on the Acute Site (Warrington) and Trauma lists.
The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of existing Consultants, Registrars / ST's, Trust Grade doctors, Surgical Care Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Trauma Co-Ordinators, to provide a complete Trauma & Orthopaedic service.
The appointee will be expected to participate fully in the provision of Trauma and District General Hospital services to the residents of Warrington & Halton and surrounding areas. It is proposed that the appointee will provide 10 PA's per week (9 PA's DCC and 1 SPA) which will include outpatient clinics, operating theatre lists and administration. The appointee will be allocated 1 core SPA per week for professional development (CPD), Job Planning, Appraisal, Mandatory Training, attendance at regular team meetings which will have a clinical governance aspect and participating in Audit. The post-holder will be expected to take a role in ensuring delivery of a quality service. This will include the following:
· Implementing and ensuring compliance with Trust and national policies and procedures.
· Participate in reviewing and allocating resources appropriately
· Participate in reviewing and managing progress and improvement within the area.

An opportunity has arisen to recruit a high calibre, soft tissue, lower limb, Senior Clinical Fellow, until at least February 2025, with the option to extend until August 2025.
You will join a well established multi-disciplinary team, with a strong track record in higher level teaching for lower limb surgery.
Post CCT or equivalent doctors will be desirable, there is independent clinic and theatre activity within the post. There will be teaching and research commitment.
Lower limb Orthopaedic surgeons are encouraged to apply., · Prior experience in soft tissue knee surgery is mandatory.
· Ability to work independently but with supervision.
· Good communication skills, written and presentation.
· Good organisational skills.
· Potential for significant contribution to the research priorities of the Division and for independent research activity.
· Commitment to developing/maintaining a strong research profile in their chosen field.
· The potential to publish in peer-reviewed high-impact journals and other forms of dissemination.
