Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated trainee to join our UGI department at registrar level for post available for 6 months or until 5th August 2024 (whichever is sooner).This post is ideal for someone looking to improve their training and skills in UGI and General Surgery. The General Surgery Department is very busy with high throughput of both elective and emergency patients. The UGI department provides services for benign and malignant conditions, as well as bariatric surgery. There is extensive opportunity to gain experience in theatre for both inpatient and day case procedures. The General surgery take is extremely busy with ample opportunity to gain further experience in the management of acute surgical care and emergency operating. Whilst this is not a training post, candidates will be joining a supportive department with lots of opportunities to train and develop their skills., The post will support the UGI team with ward rounds, assisting in theatre and day case operating lists as well supporting consultants with outpatient clinics. There is also the opportunity to join training lists in the endoscopy department.
