Full Job Description
Applications are invited for the 12 month post of Senior Clinical Fellow for Neurosurgery at Salford Royal Hospital to commence as soon as possible. There is a possibility of extension at the end of the post.
The successful applicant will join the departments Junior Registrar Tier, which is equivalent of ST3-5.
The Neurosurgical Unit in the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences at Salford Royal Hospital has one of the largest and busiest teams in the country.
You would join this team with direct responsibility to the neurosurgical consultants, working in conjunction with the rest of the neurosurgical team. Subspecialties that are represented within the unit include oncology, complex spine, functional, oncology and vascular neurosurgery, giving you experience in a busy, well-established and highly-performing unit.
Please note: We reserve the right to close the vacancy once a suitable number of applicants have applied., The post is suitable for neurosurgical trainees with a clear and demonstrable interest in Neurosurgery, and genuine prospects of being able to take up a Consultant (or equivalent for international applicants) post in future.
The post is paid at the equivalent of registrar grade, working alongside the other 17 clinical registrars and 3 research registrars in the regional neurosurgical unit.
There will be involvement in general neurosurgery, and a 1:11 on call as the first on call registrar, with a senior registrar as second on call.
The post is for 12 months.
Applicants should have full registration with the GMC.

£61,825 a year per annum (plus 1:11 Resident On-Call Supplement)
