Full Job Description

We are really excited to announce Senior clinical fellow (ST4+ equivalent) post in Neonatal Medicine, Training will be provided as appropriate for the individual in accordance with the syllabus for trainees in neonatal medicine following discussion with their educational supervisor. In general training opportunities occur in the context of:

Consultant led ward rounds twice daily Registrar led ward rounds in second half of post dependent on experiencePractical supervision Concise topic teaching two mornings per weekDedicated X-ray meetingA weekly academic ward round and case presentation/seminarTraining in cranial ultrasound and echocardiography

Specialist clinics: Neurodevelopmental/Respiratory/Cardiology3 hours protected teaching per week

Weekly general paediatric teaching sessions covering a wide range of topicsRegular multidisciplinary simulation training

A dedicated service for neonatal transport in London is based at The Royal London Hospital. The team functions autonomously but there are opportunities for individuals to rotate into the transport service for periods of time to receive training and experience in this field of neonatal care.

This fellow job has come up as part of the NICU expansion in which we have opened 45 cots to provide all levels of neonatal care at the Royal London Hospital. We are a tertiary centre and take referrals from all over the North East London region.
