Full Job Description

This is a post suitable for a doctor with MRCPCH (or equivalent) with previous experience in paediatric respiratory medicine who wishes to gain in depth training in CF. They may be wishing to pursue a career in respiratory paediatrics or be keen to acquire further experience in the speciality. The appointee will be based within the tertiary respiratory service at the Royal London Children's Hospital. There are no night-time / weekend duties associated with this appointment, The role of the post holder will include inpatient and outpatient management of children with CF and non-CF bronchiectasis. They will participate in the middle grade respiratory ward cover but there is no out of hours commitment. They will attend outreach clinics (currently Colchester monthly) and be responsible for CF annual reviews and management of the CF Registry along with our database manager.

The post holder will receive training in CF and respiratory paediatrics. S/he will be expected to attend ward rounds and departmental meetings, present cases, cover the CF and non-CF bronchiectasis clinics and respiratory inpatient service (with the other respiratory SpRs). They will gain experience in flexible bronchoscopy including hands on experience if appropriate.
