Full Job Description
The department seeks to appoint a Senior Endourology Research Fellow (CCT level) for a fixed term of 1 year to this Endourology fellowship to start in August 2025. The Oxford Stone Group was the second in Europe to be recognized as a training centre of excellence for stone treatments by the European Board of Urology (EBU) in 2013. Subspecialist fellowship training is available in all aspects of stone treatment, minimally invasive therapies and Endourology. This post will also provide paid protected time to undertake endourology research. A choice of projects are available in collaboration with the world class research facilities of Oxford University. There are established and productive links with a range of disciplines including genetics, epidemiology, biomedical engineering, and with industry partners. It is expected that the fellow will produce several research outputs for presentation at international meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals., The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The duties of this post include: a)Working with the members of the Oxford Stone Group as part of a team to deliver the lithotripsy service. b)Independent operation of the lithotripter following comprehensive induction and training. c)Working with the Oxford Stone Group to deliver clinical services if and when required. d)Participate in a weekly specialized Stone Clinic. e)Participate in General Urology Clinics if required. f)Participate in morning ward rounds. g)Taking on a lead role in planning, projecting, conducting, and publishing of several research projects relevant to the service h)Being responsible in updating and actioning of the BAUS endourology audits, lithotripsy database and PCNL audit. i)Ensuring up-to-date and accurate administrative and medical records as required, j)Supervision and teaching of junior doctors and nurses as required. k)Acting as a tutor for medical students and deliver clinical teaching related to general surgical topics as required. l)Maintain an accurate logbook of educational, research and clinical activities.
- CCT Level or equivalent, Previous experience in endourology, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
