Full Job Description

Be competent and perform a range of procedures on patients of all ages. The range of breathing and sleep tests in line with the role are: Respiratory Services (Essential Skills)

  • Spirometry.
  • Lung Function Tests.
  • Reversibility Studies.
  • Skin Prick Allergy Testing.
  • Respiratory Muscle Strength Assessment.
  • Additional skills which are desirable include
  • Capillary Blood Gases (ear sampling)
  • 6-Minute Walk Tests (6MWT)
  • Bronchial Provocation Studies (Mannitol and Methacholine)
  • Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
  • Exercise Induced Bronchial Provocation.
  • Hyperventilation and Dysfunctional breathing (HPVT)
  • Fitness-to-Fly assessments (HCT)
  • Respiratory Polygraphies (set-up, analysis, and reporting)
  • Initiation, Support and Troubleshooting of Ventilation (CPAP/NIV).
  • Polysomnography (set up and interpretation)

    BSc Degree in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science
  • Competent in an array of conventional lung function tests
  • High level of technical and operational knowledge within a lung laboratory

This team member will lead in the daily running of a state-of-the-art lung function service and ensure consistent delivery of a patient centred, safe, effective, and agile service. The role will require clinical, leadership, operational and administrative skills which will contribute to the world class service offered by London Medical. This senior role will deputise in the absence of the service lead and role model for junior colleagues whilst having experience with adult and paediatric patients and have a working knowledge of regulatory requirements and latest guidelines to ensure care is delivered to the highest standards., We're a health insurer and provider.
