Full Job Description

To carry out highly specialised psychological assessments using a range of measures (interview, standardised questionnaires, rating scales, observation) of patients who have highly complex medical and psychological histories, in order to arrive at a formulation of need. To make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group. To develop, implement and monitor specialised psychological interventions based on appraisal of possible treatment options and taking into account the complexity of need identified. This requires communication with a range of professionals to share complex, sensitive and confidential information. To consult with and provide highly specialist psychological guidance to carers and families of the patient and also allied health professionals who are directly involved in
the care of patients. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for relevant individual patients and to provide both general and specialist advice for psychologists and other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
