Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Outreach Team in Oxfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Working alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Team Manager, you'll be strengthening the psychologist input into the team by offering psychological therapy, supervision, and service development. The CAMHS Outreach provides a community-based service to children and young people and their carers who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties. We'll need you to have a high-level knowledge of a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental difficulties, some skills in supervision and supporting others, as well as an ability to liaise with others across CAMHS and other services, such as schools, social care, to ensure high quality of care for young people and their families.We'll need you to be confident in your decision making and ability to present. You'll be working in a fantastic multidisciplinary team, where there's plenty of opportunity to learn from one another, share knowledge and expertise and develop your leadership skills. We offer specialist internal and external training relevant to the job role as well as wider leadership related opportunities.The team is part of a wider CAMHS offer and there are regular opportunities to link with colleagues from psychological therapies across the whole service too., One of the great things about this role is the variety we can offer you - and not just in your clinical work, where you'll be supporting children and young people who are experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD. In addition to this direct clinical work (assessment and intervention), this role provides service development and leadership opportunities such as: teaching, training, consultation, supervision, and audit/service evaluation On a day-to-day basis, you could also be: Providing specialist psychological assessment and offering treatment to the service users referred to us. Supervising and supporting the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment. Taking a lead in coordinating specialist therapeutic activity within the team and participate in disseminating skills to the wider service. Proposing and implementing policy changes within the area served by the team/service. Teaching or supervising other clinical team members. Engaging in multi-agency work to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children, young people and their families.
