Full Job Description

The Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service (SHYPS) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Clinical Scientist, to work in our busy, friendly, Biochemistry Laboratories at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust., The post holder will assist in providing a modern comprehensive high-quality service. The Blood Sciences department has a large test repertoire and is one of the busiest and best-equipped laboratories in the region, incorporating Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology & Blood Transfusion, Immunology and Point of Care Testing departments. The Biochemistry Laboratory is based in a purpose-built facility at Hull Royal Infirmary and serves a regional population of about 1.4 million people in the provision of acute and routine biochemical analysis services. The Biochemistry department contains two mass spectrometers, ICP-MS, an atomic absorption spectrometer and a HPLC system, along with a fully automated Beckman Biochemistry track.
