Full Job Description
The Clinical Support Worker will function at a higher competency level than that of other Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) with responsibility for actively participating as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Emergency Department, to provide a seamless service to patients and relatives. The CSW will work under proximal supervision from a Registered Practitioner and carry out assigned clinical tasks involving direct patient care and associated administrative duties, The delivery of clinical and therapeutic care, within the clinical setting within set protocols and within the scope of the CSW, under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Practitioner.
Organise and prioritise time and work activities effectively.
Contributes to the delivery of nursing care ensuring the highest possible standard under supervision of Registered Practitioners. Undertakes a range of delegated clinical care duties, records patients observations and collects specimens and samples as instructed
Under supervision and appropriate delegation from the Registered Practitioner assess patients conditions through basic test results and clinical observations.
Ensure care is documented accurately and in a timely manner as per Trust policy and contributes to updating patients records.
Ensure that patients and relatives are treated with courtesy at all times and the individual needs of patients are respected, promoting and valuing the rights, responsibilities and diversity of people. Patients must be treated with privacy and dignity.
Maintain a safe working environment, reporting incidents, accidents and complaints. Understand the need to maintain and respect patient confidentiality
promotes and participates in Health Education.
Maintain confidentiality of all patients and work related issues.
Actively participates in Departmental Team Development and Nursing Team Development
