Full Job Description

  • Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Provide expert knowledge to ensure successful cloud adoption by translating cloud strategy into efficient, resilient, and secure implementations.

  • Thought Leadership: Lead in cloud engineering areas, focusing on Compute and Data, offering innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Mentorship & Architecture Support: Mentor architects on new cloud solutions by analyzing requirements, supporting design, development, testing, and ensuring readiness for ongoing support.

  • Cloud Migration: Lead cloud migration projects by analyzing requirements, identifying migration techniques, developing artifacts, and ensuring smooth execution and ongoing support.

  • Infrastructure Automation: Design, build, and enhance cloud infrastructure solutions, leveraging automation strategies like IaC, policy-as-code, CI/CD, and DevOps methodologies.

  • Innovation & Prototyping: Research and prototype new tools to improve cloud platforms, reduce manual tasks, and mentor others in automation best practices.

  • Reliability & Scalability: Collaborate with product and SRE teams to ensure cloud infrastructures are reliable, scalable, and meet non-functional requirements such as data protection, disaster recovery, and high availability.

  • IaaS and PaaS Subject Matter Expertise: Respond to escalated incidents, provide support, and build reusable artifacts for cloud deployments.

  • Community Engagement & Learning: Elevate cloud engineering competencies through active participation in communities of practice, hackathons, and mentoring, while fostering continuous learning and improvement.

  • Planning & Optimization: Engage in activities to optimize capacity, reliability, cost, and performance engineering across cloud environments.

  • Security Collaboration: Work closely with security teams to design, implement, and test security controls, ensuring alignment with best practices.

  • Logging & Monitoring: Design and implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and observability solutions to support cloud operations.

  • Infrastructure Integration: Optimize integration across single cloud, multicloud, and hybrid environments, tailoring solutions based on specific use cases.

  • Cloud Communication: Clearly convey the advantages and disadvantages of cloud services to stakeholders with varying levels of experience, offering alternative solutions when cloud is not the best fit.

  • Vendor & Supplier Management: Collaborate with third-party suppliers and lead engagements with vendor technical support when needed.

  • Problem Management: Lead post-incident reviews, offering technical insights, documented findings, and recommendations for root cause analysis.

  • Resilience & Disaster Recovery: Support resilience efforts through disaster recovery planning, performance testing, and tabletop exercises to ensure business continuity.

    Cloud Architecture & Collaboration: Support teams on cloud best practices, working with developers and SREs to plan, design, and operationalize cloud workloads.

  • Infrastructure Support & Cloud Migration: Experience in infrastructure support and cloud migration projects, ensuring smooth execution and security.

  • DevOps & Automation: Proficiency in DevOps, using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines for automation, infrastructure-as-code, and workflow optimization.

  • Agile Practices: Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), proposing standards, and continuous improvement.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, Python, Windows/Linux, databases, and cloud networking/security.

  • Resilience & Cost Optimization: Implement highly available systems, optimize resources, and analyze cloud spending.

  • Communication & Mentorship: Strong communication, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills, with a continuous learning mindset.

  • Compliance & Governance: Collaborate on governance controls, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and standards.

  • Discretionary yearly bonus: 10%
