Full Job Description

The role of Senior Communications Officer sits in JLR's global Corporate Affairs and Motorsport (CA&M) chapter. CA&M owns the communication strategy for the JLR business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence all stakeholders. That includes internal (employee) and external (media, government, supplier) audiences through the effective management of JLR's corporate communication channels. JLR is a business undergoing fundamental change through the exciting Reimagine strategy. Set against a canvas of true sustainability, JLR will become proud creators of the world's most desirable luxury vehicles and services for the most discerning of customers - a strategy that is designed to create a new benchmark in environmental, societal and community impact for a luxury business. Within JLR, the Industrial Operations (IO) chapter is responsible for the creation/industrialisation of our exceptional products - bringing together Procurement, Supply chain and Manufacturing teams. This role sits within the newly formed Industrial Operations Communications team that, while part of CA&M headcount, will business partner with IO at a strategic level, aligned to executive Board and first line director objectives. As a Senior Communications Officer you will be responsible for delivering targeted and strategic communications to IO's key audiences, including employees within the chapter and JLR external suppliers. The role will flex between 50% business partnering with key members of the IO first line director team - providing comms advice, coaching and supporting their internal communication needs - and 50% supporting supplier communications, events and planning.,

  • Supporting defined IO leadership members and their offices in developing communications and employee engagement, ensuring relevant news, wins, successes, people stories etc. filter through to IO and JLR business-wide communication channels
  • Sourcing and delivering engaging stories, written and digital assets for internal communications channels relating to IO initiatives - elevating the wealth of stories and promoting key achievements/milestones from the chapter aligned to the company's Reimagine strategy
  • Leading on strategic events to our supply base and build relevant and appropriate content and key messages
  • Acting as CA&M ambassador, influencing and networking across the business, building key relationships with the IO team and working to develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing communications channels
  • Working closely with other JLR functions and comms leads, especially those in our manufacturing plants, to help deliver communication objectives and outcomes

Corporate communications and engagement experience to complex, diverse internal and external audiences - must be able to produce communications which are relevant and easy-to-digest for all levels and have the ability to identify good stories from across the business
  • Experience of the production and management of content and events, including photo/film shoots/briefs/storyboards and change management communications
  • Be commercially astute - used to working in a business environment
  • Be an excellent negotiator and influencer
  • Experience in events management

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
  • We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you're unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role - but you're interested in where it could take you - we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people's ability to grow and develop within their role - it's what makes living the exceptional with soul possible. JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
