Full Job Description

RPS are looking for a Senior Consultant (ESG) to join our leading Environmental team, responsible for developing effective environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and solutions for our clients while helping develop new opportunities.

Experience in delivering consulting work across multiple areas, which may include specialisms in 2 or more of the following areas: climate change and Net Zero Carbon, natural capital, sustainability strategy and engagement, responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability, social - ethical labour and human rights issues, environmental compliance, producer responsibility, H&S and welfare, governance systems, EHS management systems, waste / water management and biodiversity
Advising clients on climate action, carbon footprinting, NZC programmes, offsetting and related activities e.g. TCFD reporting, SBTi setting
Strong technical knowledge of current and imminent UK legislation in relation to environmental, social and governance regulations, policy, guidance, procedures and industry specific operational regulations
Knowledge and experience of applying environmental liability and sustainability principles across a wide range of sectors
Strong commercial acumen with excellent written and oral communication skills
Very good communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills
Build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with team, colleagues, clients and external bodies
Good financial and project management skills
Actively add to the discussion at meetings
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
A positive approach to their own professional development
A full understanding and belief in RPS' Purpose, Promise and Behaviour
A strong knowledge of the technical discipline including the current methods, legislation, techniques and guidance which directs the services we provide
Degree (BSc / BEng)in relevant subject preferably with relevant Masters (MSc) or post graduate qualification
Subject to the role and business unit employed within, already be or be working towards Chartered membership of the relevant professional body in the chosen professional area i.e. IEMA, IES
