Full Job Description

Everyday our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. We're looking for a content strategist in our brand and content team, to help tell our story, share distinctive insights and guide on strategy, narrative and content creation. You'll work with marketing and business development colleagues to take the issues that impact our audiences/targets/clients and turn them into engaging content and campaigns that position Grant Thornton as a different type of advisor. A keen storyteller yourself, your time will be split between advising on content strategy and creating some content yourself. We want you to show the way, as well as advise. A look into the role As a senior content strategist within our brand and content team you will:

  • Consult with our marketing and business colleagues to define and challenge briefs, ideate strategies and recommend content approaches to influence customer behaviour and the buying process.
  • Get to know our audiences and what their pain points are, learning how to tap into their interests to drive behaviours and support sales targets.
  • Use your knowledge of digital and offline channels for content marketing to create inspired and differentiated content that works.
  • Find, create and write stories - using our people, clients and data/insights to share how we are different.
  • Take detailed technical information and developing clear messaging and stories for our audience.
  • Juggle competing demands for your time, working with different teams across our matrix organisation to help create demand for our services.
  • Align our content creation to our strategic themes, firmwide calendar and have oversight from planning through to execution.
  • Look for opportunities to repurpose, retire and reactivate existing content based on the market.

    Joining us as a senior content strategist, the minimum criteria you'll need is a proven track record of strategic content marketing campaigns that deliver, great writing and commissioning skills and a knack for storytelling. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don't worry if you don't tick every box, we'll help you develop along the way.
  • You've helped your teammates or clients build content campaigns that engage audiences and deliver results.
  • You can build relationships with senior stakeholders, positioning content as a commercial driver and key route to market for their expertise.
  • You can support content creators to align to key themes and market priorities to help create a distinctive voice in the market.
  • You have extensive writing experience across all stages of the buyer journey and all typical channels.
  • You know what makes great content, whether that's in video, audio or written formats.
  • You thrive working as a key member in a creative team across all content formats including video, design and data visualisation.
  • You've used analysis to define and evolve best practices for content.
  • You have created/ideated content and campaigns for marketing automation and personalisation.
