Balfour Beatty has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Contracts Engineer to join our exceptional Ground Engineering team. This pivotal role will play a key part in delivering the groundbreaking Net Zero Teesside Project, a major milestone in the UK's journey towards sustainability. Balfour Beatty's Ground Engineering business is positioned as the UK's leading specialist geotechnical contractor, drawing on its knowledge and expertise in delivering innovative piling and ground improvement solutions across all sectors, focussing on providing the solid foundations for buildings of any height, ranging from city skyscrapers to house foundation packages. As a Senior Contracts Engineer, you'll lead with excellence, overseeing contract performance, safety, progress reporting, and team management. You'll collaborate closely with clients and internal teams, ensuring all work is completed with the highest standards of safety, quality, sustainability, and efficiency.What you'll be doing Some key responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing internal resources and subcontractors to deliver exceptional results.
  • Ensuring construction aligns with contracts, designs, and specifications.
  • Preparing and reviewing construction method statements to prioritize safe and efficient operations.
  • Managing essential site documentation, including Project Management Plans and Health & Safety documentation.
  • Leading risk assessments and problem-solving on engineering issues.
  • Tracking progress, managing productivity, and ensuring goals are met.
  • Producing accurate records, including O&M manuals and as-built drawings.
  • Supporting UKCK's sustainability initiatives.

    You will have the following:
  • A Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in piling projects and delivering large-scale infrastructure developments.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in piling methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Expertise in managing Health & Safety, including Behavioral Safety initiatives.
