Full Job Description

Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk team where you will work as part of a team of analysts to develop, deliver and monitor credit risk strategies.,

  • Undertake analysis of Credit acquisition strategy and processes to provide insight and recommendations to Credit management to improve and optimise Credit decisioning strategy
  • Set and monitor Motor credit risk performance against agreed plans, targets and budgets and work with the Credit Manager to propose and agree actions required to address any performance issues and/or to capitalise on opportunities
  • Develop and present high quality credit risk related MI and insight to Credit management, Credit Committees and other major stakeholders to support informed decision making
  • Maintain and provide input for relevant Credit Policies to ensure the delivery of business objectives and alignment with Group Credit Risk Standards
  • Ensure compliance with prudent underwriting standards and assist Operations to ensure that Motor's bad debt is managed appropriately, and all processes comply with the regulatory guidance

    Working as part of the Credit Risk team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in designing and implementing Credit acquisition strategy with excellent analytical skills., You have experience of designing and implementing Credit acquisition strategy including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, underwriting, bureau data and credit systems
  • You have a strong analytical mindset to be able to understand and investigate complex issues in a methodical manner
  • You have strong coding skills, with experience using tools such as SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects or other similar data analytical tools
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate complex information to senior management and non-credit colleagues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to support, coach and encourage other team members
  • IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Have an understanding and / or experience of credit scorecards in a retail or commercial environment
  • Have experience of consumer and commercial underwriting, credit bureau data and reports, business accounts etc
