Full Job Description

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for:

  • + FMEA/FMECA for critical systems and DP vessels.
    + Mobilization/proving and annual trials for DP vessels.
    + Vessel assessments for energy sector missions.
    + AC/DC power system assessments and DP audits.
    + Hybrid power systems and training for vetting inspectors.
    + ASOG/WSOG documentation.
  • Conduct vessel assurance and audits, including DP systems.

  • Assist in DP technical projects and ship design.

  • Liaise with the team on FMEA development; attend meetings.

  • Visit clients and suppliers as needed.

  • Ensure DP engineering compliance with statutory rulings and guidance.

  • Maintain knowledge of industry standards (IMO, MTS, IMCA).

  • Learn new skills in hybrid vessel technology and autonomous shipping.

  • Demonstrate electrical and control engineering expertise.

  • Participate in technical reviews and maritime study reports.

  • Contribute to DP business line development.

  • Assist in preparing tenders and proposals for DP and offshore projects.

  • Ensure compliance with operational instructions, procedures, and policies.

  • Lead or assist projects to deliver optimal solutions within set timeframes and quality standards.

  • Deliver quality documents within management and client timelines.

  • Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and satisfaction.

  • Perform other assigned duties.


  • The role is based in London, UK and the candidate should have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom. However, we are still considering applications outside the UK and relocation will only be considered for the right candidate.
    Flexibility to working hours, willingness to travel and work at various locations within the region - offshore travel is a requirement of the job. Must undergo BOSIT / GWO Certification for trials/ offshore attendance.

    To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate proficiency in the Maritime DP Control system and possess in-depth knowledge of electrical systems. Strong analytical skills are essential for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, along with proven leadership abilities to guide technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
    In addition, you will:
  • Hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent seagoing electrical qualifications.

  • Possess DP maintenance certification from a major manufacturer.

  • Have min 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years of technical experience.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of DP maritime, control, and electrical systems and equipment.


  • Competencies and Capabilities:
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing controls/electrical drawings.

  • Skilled in identifying faults/nonconformance in DP-related systems.

  • Capable of understanding and interpreting mechanical P&ID.

  • Able to comprehend and interpret hydraulic systems.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated, energetic, and engaging.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent presentation skills.


  • Desirable Skills:
  • Additional DP certification from a major manufacturer.

  • Prior experience with DP systems OEM.

  • Exposure to DP and diving audits/trials.

  • Experience in a similar role.
