Full Job Description
Suffolk County Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Data Analyst to provide maternity cover for up to 12 months. You will deliver a portfolio of strategic insights from data analysis projects across the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System.
About the SNEE ICS Intelligence Function
The Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) Integrated Care System (ICS) has a diverse and talented analytical community, modern data and analytics technology, and engaged stakeholders. A key part of this analytical community is the SNEE Intelligence Function. This is an analytical collaborative, with representatives from organisations across health, care and the VCFSE who will work together to provide actionable insights from data that links information on health, care and the wider determinants of health. Suffolk County Council is hosting the 'hub' team of Intelligence Function analysts on behalf of the SNEE ICS and is working with ICS partners to use new data and insights to support the improvement of health outcomes and the reduction of health inequalities.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analyst in the SNEE ICS Intelligence Function, you will be at the forefront of evolving our ongoing data and analytics response. You will manage discrete analytical projects, working with analytical teams in system partners to deliver 'deep dives' into matters of strategic and / or operational interest. This will include analysis on the drivers of need and demand for a breadth of healthcare services, insights into the causes and magnitude of health inequalities, and opportunities to address future demand and capacity challenges. You will use your technical skills and expertise (which are likely to include advanced knowledge of statistics and data visualisation, using tools such as R, Python, and SQL or similar) to evolve our existing intelligence products and develop new ones.
You will be motivated by solving problems through analysis and will be able to combine quantitative and qualitative insights to deliver advice to senior decision makers, provide data-driven modelling scenarios and be able to build reports to identify key areas of inequality including in access, processes, and outcomes. You are likely to have considerable experience in the evaluation of health and care interventions and will be able to apply this experience to the work of the SNEE ICS. You will also play a significant role in our work to realise the full potential of population health management data and may also have health economics experience you can apply.
You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (docx). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
We will offer you
An innovative opportunity to deploy your advanced analytical skills to improve the health, care and wellbeing outcomes of the SNEE population, and in particular to use data to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged in our communities
You will have opportunity for significant learning, both in relation to technical data skills but also the skills of applying analytics and navigating complex and dynamic health and care systems and organisations
Your future career opportunities will be enhanced both by the analytics products you will develop and deliver, but also by the leadership and influencing opportunities this post offers.
