Full Job Description
Cirium's datasets are under constant review, change and improvement and we are embarking on a change program to focus on the efficient and scalable tools required to maintain our datasets in the AI world. This will be a transformative journey to reimagine how we deliver world class data services using new technologies to innovate and improve the efficiency of what we do. This new position will have a strong focus on the leadership of our people, attending to culture, motivation and developing greater levels of team capability and a continuous improvement mindset. The role will own the 'how' for their team, using Task Leaders to focus on the day-to-day activity (the 'what'). Working closely with the Head of Data Curation & Research, the role will shape strategy to transform the ways we do things, bringing a commercial mindset to where we utilise and invest, collaborating with teams and senior stakeholders across the business, who rely on our critical data resources. An ability to see the bigger picture of our data and how clients use our data is important and working towards our commercial objectives, while making those objectives accessible to your team, will be a large part of the role so we are all clear on the 'Why' we are doing what we do and why we are doing it in the way we are. Collaborating with our commercial teams to understand, validate and build the data needed, in the most efficient ways is a key aspect of the role, that requires making best use of our valuable SMEs and making them as available and accessible to our commercial teams, so that their knowledge is shared internally and externally, helping customers understand the value they are buying into and for our teams to see their value to our clients. Change can be challenging, having the ability to explore and appraise ideas before articulating the benefits of change organizationally and to your teams is an important skill. Being an enabler, unblocking your teams, colleagues and peers is a key attribute, with change necessary in the near- and long-term constructing cross functional plans and roadmaps, to create strategic clarity. Your team will be a blend of hybrid and home-based workers, spread across the UK or Internationally. Responsibilities:
- Act as a change agent for data-driven decision making, advocating development of best practice and tooling, developing both your team, parallel teams and peers in the process
- Work with peers and leaders to create a vision for the department to embed analytics across your and their teams and a repeatable benchmark of success/failure
- Experimenting with and harnessing AI, GenAI and automation to improve efficiencies, make best use of resources, adopt new ways of working and add resilience to our data
- Create, maintain and enhance metrics to support the development/reporting of your team
- Challenge others in the business to think and act differently
- Build new and broad relationships across the business for yourself and your team
- Elevating your team and their SME within the business so they are engaged with our commercial teams and so we are involved in new product and sales developments
- Build relationships with our Global Sales and Product teams and leverage them to understand data priorities and opportunities
- Create a platform for your key SMEs to add their expertise to the business when required, by developing their skills, their availability or the access they need
- Prioritising data activity and resources on the most commercially important areas, while maintaining BAU to agreed levels of quality
- Understand, enforce and refine the importance of QC
- Demonstrating both internally and externally the effort, accuracy and value of our data
- Provide direction and guidance with time and workload management, personal development and support to fulfil goals/KPOs.
- Devise, build and implement efficient & secure procedures for data management/analysis
- Active and consistent performance management of team, Coach and mentor your team, peer leaders and managers, and their teams to drive the behaviours, critical thinking and development focus needed as a change agent
- Able to identify critical opportunities and barriers, suggest solutions for complex issues, and bring these to the attention to decision-makers, alongside your team and SMEs
- Connect solutions with business value and efficiency, demonstrating their value for buy in and report on their delivery

You will lead a dedicated and extremely knowledgeable Fleets research team, with many years of Aviation experience and expertise, guiding them to develop their own skills, focusing on developing increasingly efficient processes and tools to acquire, process and publish our data. You will have excellent transformational skills and able to define and share metrics, to demonstrate data quality, progress, opportunities, and risk, that help prioritise change and plan for the future.,
