Full Job Description

The Senior Data Scientist will support ICHP's delivery of complex change by bringing a breadth of, statistical, analytical and data engineering skills. You will also bring energy and empathy in the development, execution, and management of the data analysis within projects., The role primarily focuses on the application of the advanced statistics methods and complex quantitative analysis required to help stakeholders characterise the issues they face, the options they have, or to evaluate the impact of changes made. This requires the postholder to understand why analysis is being undertaken, how the outputs are intended to be used, as well as helping to define how we should undertake a particular method of analysis., + Population health analytics to help understand the needs of patients within NWL and nationally and how current services can be re- shaped to meet these needs
+ Create statistical models using patient level data from the real-world linked datasets e.g. Discover dataset
+ Writing complex SQL queries, analysing data in SNOWFLAKE, and having demonstrable understanding of the data warehousing frameworks.
+ Project Management
+ Delivering on a range of data science projects to both public and private sector clients. Project usually require conducting and interpreting highly complex statistical analysis.
+ Being a domain expert, understanding what information is available to address a specific problem, as well as being able to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each approach
+ Designing and developing complex econometric models that are transparent and user-friendly
+ Helping to develop specific analysis, methods, and/or tools that can be used for the purpose of population health improvement.
+ Working with clients and stakeholders from operational, clinical, and commercial backgrounds to understand and define the question we are trying to answer.
+ Developing reproducible analytical pipelines and documentation using Rmarkdown for R or Jupyter notebook for Python.

The role requires sound understanding and previous experience with statistical methods (such as distributions, statistical testing, regressions, survival analysis methods, difference in differences, propensity score matching, interrupted time series etc) on healthcare data for medical research.

Discover-NOW not only provides access to a unique de-personalised longitudinal linked dataset across a population of more than 2.8 million, but also has an expert team in place to deliver an analytics service wrapper to all our clients.
