Full Job Description

  • You will be part of our newly-formed Data Insights team, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and data science techniques to enable data-driven decision-making across RM, delivering value for our customers.
  • Working within the Transformation function, you will be responsible for driving insight generation, identifying and developing data-driven profitability opportunities.
  • You will be expected to develop and apply state-of-the-art data science and artificial intelligence techniques to solve Royal Mail's business challenges
  • You will present, disseminate and explain our work via presentations, reports, external papers and blogs and well-documented software packages.

    For this role you should hold a Master's degree, or equivalent knowledge and practical experience, in a field with significant use of both computer programming and advanced statistical or quantitative methods.
  • You should be able to demonstrate experience of developing end-to-end advanced statistical, machine learning and optimisation systems including data cleansing, exploratory data analysis, model development, evaluation, visualisation and monitoring.
  • You have practical experience applying statistical modelling and experimentation to produce data-driven, evidence-based insights.
  • You have knowledge of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence techniques, including leveraging pre-trained foundation models to solve challenging business problems or optimise workflows.
  • You are fluent in Python and standard libraries for data science, statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence along with understanding cloud computing platforms
