Full Job Description

You will be joining a team of over 50 experienced dental professionals including dentists, nurses, therapists, oral health promoters and admin staff who work at clinics across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead as well as delivering treatment on South Tyneside and Sunderland hospital sites.

You will be responsible for the day to day line management of dental nurses across all localities, ensuring that a high standard of clinical care is maintained at all times. You will also provide Senior Dental Nurse support throughout the dental care and treatment of adults and children with special needs.

You will be provided with a base clinic when appointed but will be expected to work flexibly across different clinics across South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated senior dental nurse to work as part of the Community Dental Service at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust to support the leadership of the dental nursing team. Our service provides a high standard of care and the best possible experience for our diverse group of patients. The post holder would be expected to travel to different clinical sites across South Tyneside, Sunderland and Gateshead.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day line management of staff and clinics as well as to support the development of the dental nursing team to ensure the smooth running of the service. They will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills to work alongside other senior nurses within the dental nursing team. They must hold current registration with the GDC, a recognised post qualification and have evidence of leadership skills.
