Full Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our ambitious and highly collaborative Senior Leadership Team, working alongside the Principal in articulating and implementing the vision, values and strategy of The Holgate Academy and the Diverse Academies Trust.

As a member of the SLT, you will contribute to the overall leadership and management of the academy and ensure all staff work according to our shared values to secure the highest possible standards and outcomes for all students.

You will be able to lead staff confidently through coaching, mentoring and development at all levels, build good relationships with families and the local community and develop a collaborative model of practice across the school.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Safeguarding or Child Protection Qualification

  • Formal DSL training

  • Safeguarding leadership experience in a relevant setting

  • Deep knowledge of what constitutes effective safeguarding

  • Direct experience in successfully improving outcomes and life chances of disadvantaged pupil

  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning for Academy development and improvement

  • A clear and coherent vision which is consistent with the vision of The Holgate Academy and Diverse Academies

  • Ability to take a strategic view in order to determine a clear pathway to achieve future goals
