Full Job Description

As our Senior Development Engineer, you'll support HID's success by:

  • Leading the design and development of engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure project viability.
  • Developing and implementing testing protocols to ensure product quality and performance.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements to drive innovation.
  • Creating intellectual property and contributing to technology management.
  • Driving and working with universities & technical institutions on Engineering projects.
  • Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation.
  • Supporting product transfers and release to operations.

  • Pre-Sales Support: Part of this role will involve supporting pre-sales activities when requested, including preparing and delivering presentations in collaboration with other CID departments such as the Product Line, Bid Team, Delivery Team, etc.
  • Customer Projects: Support customer projects when requested.

  • Experience in document (cards & passport booklets) personalization, such as laser and printing technologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative thinking and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Your Experience and Education include:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a Master's in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in smart card technologies and governmental products manufacturing, such as ID cards or passport booklets.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, and international technical standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Familiar with project management software, such as MS Project.
