Full Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company. We are looking for a hands-on, motivated Senior Development Engineer to join our well-established and growing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, development, and certification of piping systems, connectors, and interfaces using advanced composite manufacturing techniques
- Providing comprehensive engineering solutions for various development projects
- Coordinating with third-party service providers to ensure seamless execution of development activities both in-house and externally
- Ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, QA/QC policies, and specifications, including ISO 9001
- Communicating and collaborating effectively with the Technical Director, stakeholders, and project team members
- Managing the professional development and training of direct reports
- Undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by the Technical Director to support business objectives
At least 7 years of experience in an engineering role within an industrial setting
- Demonstrated ability to lead medium to large sized teams and successfully deliver projects
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system (highly desirable)
- Experience in applying composite materials in industrial applications
- High levels of energy and enthusiasm for solving complex problems
- Excellent teamwork, organizational, and planning abilities
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks, working under pressure, and meeting project deadlines
- Exceptional communication and customer-facing skills
- Competent in performing fundamental engineering calculations from first principles
- Proficient in using MS Office products, including MS Project
- Skilled in using a 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience with an FEA system, preferably Hyperworks, Legally able to work in the UK
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it with a recognised engineering body

The working hours for this role is Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30, with a 1-hour lunch break. There is some flexibility in the working hours which can be discussed if you are successful for the role.
