Full Job Description
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Development Manager to join our Development and Delivery team here at Housing 21. Within the role you will take responsibility for the Project Management of multiple multi million pound construction projects with critical emphasis on providing specialist technical leadership for the design, construction and delivery of specific development projects to time and budget. To meet key milestones and objectives and build effective working relationships internally across the organisation and with Consultants, Contractors, Local Authorities, Homes England and others. You will lead on the generation and identification of new business opportunities within the region, attending external meetings with stakeholders. Supporting the New Business Development Managers at pre-construction stage, identifying risks and inputting into the design, tender and pre-contract stages. Reporting into the Director of Development and Delivery, the successful post holder will be responsible for supporting a regional team of new business and delivery development managers. The post holder will be a recognised development expert with a strong emphasis in delivery within the social housing sector. You will be able to solve complex problems alongside a thorough understanding of the pre-contract and new business stages and timeline of the full Development Process. This is mobile role covering the North and there is a requirement to attend team meetings as required, including at our Head Office in Birmingham. Curious to know more? The essential requirements for the role include:
- Excellent knowledge of construction standards, regulation and legislation including Health & Safety and proven experience of managing these at a senior level.
- Knowledge of full Development process from inception to end of defects
- Excellent IT skills and used to working with Microsoft functionalities, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge and experience of different forms of building contracts, familiarity with a range of building construction processes, experience of building refurbishment and new-build constructions
- Knowledge of Homes England funding and development procedures and relevant legislation
- Knowledge and experience of different types of Legal Agreements for Statutory Authorities
- Extensive experience of successful housing development, managing resources and delivering projects
- A track record of project management and negotiation.
- Experience in using project management software, word processing, spreadsheets and databases
- A relevant professional qualification and/or degree in construction
- Recognised Project Management Qualification
