Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our close-knit Digital Team in a dynamic, fast-paced role that offers abundant opportunities for skill development. As a 2nd Line IT Engineer, you will provide essential IT support to our clinical and operational teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our systems. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced technical support to resolve escalated issues and ensure optimal system and network performance. Working closely with our 1st Line Support and IT management teams, you'll play a key part in delivering timely, effective solutions while maintaining a high standard of customer service. As an NHS provider, we rely on specialised systems such as C3, Cleric, and GRS. While prior experience with these platforms is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided. Our wider Digital Team is always available to offer guidance and support whenever needed.,

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated issues, ensuring critical IT systems, servers, and networks operate seamlessly.
  • Collaborate with 1st Line Support and IT teams to deliver prompt, effective technical resolutions.
  • Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, and the continuous improvement of IT services.
  • Travel between sites, including ambulance stations across Greater Manchester, to provide on-site support as needed.

    A proactive, self-motivated approach with a keen interest in healthcare.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to manage and resolve advanced IT issues.
  • Familiarity with healthcare systems (C3, Cleric, GRS) is a plus, though full training will be provided.
  • A full driving licence, as travel between bases will be required.

    North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
  • Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
