The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and Vendor Consignment (VC) Lead is tasked with establishing and maintaining contractual relationships with vendors for both Materials and Finished Goods at Teva. These contracts are strategically designed to achieve inventory reduction targets. The role leverages all applicable strategies within the VMI and Consignment categories to optimize inventory levels. Key responsibilities include minimizing balance sheet impact while ensuring material availability and controlling costs, all while fostering strong vendor relationships. This position demands a proven track record in supply chain management, with a particular focus on inventory optimization. Experience in partnership development, vendor management, and procurement is highly desirable. This high-impact role requires a combination of strategic vision, operational excellence, and effective team leadership.How you'll spend your day
- Developing and executing a robust VMI/Consignment Strategy.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate VMI and consignment practices into our supply chain processes.
- Supporting supplier manager in developing and executing negotiation strategy.
- Monitoring supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements related to VMI/VC activity.
- Cooperating with Supply Chain to implement best practices for inventory management.
- Managing and driving initiatives such as Lead time reductions, Minimum order quantity reductions, Just-In-Time Models, Distribution Models, Supplier Financing Models and finally classical VMI or Vendor Consignment.
- Leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.
- Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks related to VMI and consignment, including regulatory compliance, quality, and security.
- Developing contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Fostering collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Supply Chain, Legal, and other relevant stakeholders to drive operational excellence and cost efficiencies.
- Leading the comprehensive digitization initiative for Vendor Management Inventory.
- Establishing a robust governance framework that ensures the program's overall long-term success.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related field. Master's degree in supply chain preferred. - 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management.
- Proven track record of establishing a VMI and consignment framework and organisation.
- Relevant certifications (APICS, CPIM, HR, CSSP, PMP, LEAN certifications) are advantageous.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
- Ability to develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Strong negotiation skills for supplier agreements.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of international supply chain dynamics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation. Reports To VP Countries Procurement, Global Procurement
