Full Job Description

With our ongoing success in business growth, we are expanding our Project Development team in Bristol and have a new opportunity for a Development Engineer to join us to develop a pipeline of EV infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will support work assignments covering all technical analysis and project development deliverables for our customers in both public and private sectors. This involves energy data analysis and modelling, feasibility study, on-site energy audit, coordination with stakeholders, report writing and assisting in internal work process improvement. The ideal candidate must have a good level of technical expertise, possess strong analytical skills, have a sound track record, be an adept user of IT and software systems, and be willing to travel outside of Bristol, especially in the West of England region.,

  • Compilation of site information including utility data, metering data, field measurements, existing system configuration and operation, and service reports
  • Perform desktop data analysis including energy usage analysis, energy modelling, benchmarking analysis, energy and carbon savings calculations and GIS analysis
  • Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic analysis across various renewable and clean technologies
  • Assist in site surveys with client and internal design engineers, especially electrical, to identify technical solutions at potential customer sites
  • Develop capital cost and energy savings models Liaise with client stakeholders, especially technical teams, for example streetlighting electricians and attend regular client project meetings
  • Preparation of technical reports, presentation and all project supporting documentation detailing sites electrical and civils layout, data analysis results and energy savings opportunities
  • Assist in improving operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
  • Preparing scope of works documentation for internal signoff, to proceed to detailed technical design.
  • Agree the required level of technical design for price proposal for client contract (for example defining roles as per RIBA stage)
  • Consolidate and review project deliverables and technical documents gener ated by e xternal engineering consultants

    Degree, or equivalent, preferably in Electrical Engineering. Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering also considered.
  • Essential skills and experience
  • Minimum two years of experience working in energy, renewables, or decarbonisation
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving expertise
  • Experience of how Electric vehicle charging infrastructure sites need to be designed and built (including accessibility and usability)
  • Experience of coordinating technical designs as per the clients requirements, in collaboration with supply chain partners
  • Experience of supply chain commercial contract negotiation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Good verbal, written and computer communication skills
  • Desirable skills and experience
  • Proficient in Power BI
  • CAD experience
  • Experience of working with Electric Vehicle charging Infrastructure (design / implementation / monitoring & verification / Operations & Maintenance) including the user experience.
  • Experience with one or more energy modelling software or programming languages

They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines. A team player with the ability to work in fast-paced environment across multiple projects.
