Full Job Description

The Waste and Environment, Programme and Resources Team are recruiting a Senior Environment & Waste Management Technician (Data). The successful candidate will be responsible for producing performance management statistics and reports, as well as managing, processing and validating waste and environmental data. About the Role Working in a small, friendly team, you'll contribute towards the successful collation and processing of waste data, ensuring the County Council has the information it needs in order to fulfil its statutory duties as a Waste Disposal Authority. You will be responsible for managing data from a selection of the Council's contractors, making sure that we have data returns in good time, in support of statutory returns and the processing of invoices. The successful applicant will be competent in Microsoft Excel, and will have the opportunity to learn how to use our bespoke software systems. The work would suit someone with transferable data management skills. Good communication skills are important, and a background in waste management would be advantageous.

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Experience of analysis and reporting of complex data using standard and bespoke databases and spreadsheets
  • Experience in the use of MS Office packages to collate information and produce reports
  • Experience of being able to demonstrate tact but be assertive when required
  • BTEC National, NVQ4 or equivalent, AND/OR experience in a data processing or waste management role
  • The ability to effectively plan, prioritise and manage own workload
  • You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
