Full Job Description

Here at Serco, we are seeking a Senior ERP Project Manager to take full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of complex projects. These projects have a significant business profile and impact, and high-risk dependencies. As part of this, you'll manage multiple projects in parallel and multiple smaller changes through the delivery lifecycle.

You will ensure that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained. You will also monitor and control resources, operating and capital costs, against the project budget and manage expectations of all project stakeholders.

This role will involve overseeing all internal delivery teams as well as any external partners/suppliers delivering as part of the project and is positioned within the Data, Digital and Technology function.

As part of this you will:

  • End-to-end delivery of all sizes of stand-alone ERP work package, or the ERP workstreams within wider business programmes, to time, cost, and quality.

  • Manage delivery partners/suppliers to ensure effective delivery and high-quality outputs.

  • Contribute to project business case creation and funding requests, then manage to the agreed budget and provide accurate financial reporting.

  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies, and proactively resolve issues.

  • Ensure that IT deliverables are to the required standard of quality, within the constraints of time and cost.

  • Manage competing demands for project time and resources, liaising with business customers to ensure priorities are identified and met.

  • Maintain project documentation and comply with PMO Governance (e.g., requirements tracking, plan, status reports, gate reviews, lessons learnt).

  • Drive delivery team meetings, project boards and steering committees as appropriate to ensure effective governance and communication.

Significant IT project management experience, ideally including ERP implementations and changes.

  • Strong experience in dealing with senior business users, determining delivery scope and priorities as well as resolving issues.

  • Familiarity with both waterfall and agile (linear and iterative) project methodologies.

  • Foundational understanding of Systems Integration, Systems Development Life Cycle Methodologies, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design

  • Excellent presentation and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to coordinator and motivate others to deliver, without direct management authority.

  • Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans, solve problems, and overcome obstacles, handling challenging situations with perseverance and professionalism.

  • Must be willing to undergo BPSS security clearance.
