Full Job Description

In your new role, you will lead the Estimating team and ensure that the services provided are to the highest quality and standard with due recognition of client and customer requirements.

What you'll do:

  • Lead on a wide range of complex building, mechanical/electrical and structural disciplines.

  • Take responsibility for the provision of a cost-effective Estimating Service to service users, both internal and external.

  • Take responsibility for the financial accountability of commissioned building and specialist work, monitoring of budgets and work programmes.

  • Develop and specify new work, remedial work and specialist installations to enable in-house or external contractors to deliver the best solutions.

  • Ensure that all commissioned work complies with statutory legislation and regulation

  • Ensure specified works make best use of resources and consider carbon reduction commitments.

  • Provide bills of quantities, schedules and estimates to enable building/specialist installation work to be procured effectively and efficiently.

  • Advise and direct service users on complex technical issues promoting solutions which promote the best interests of the Company.

  • Directly provide advice on planned, responsive and cyclical maintenance programmes across a wide range of buildings.

  • Assist and direct in the organisation and implementation of accommodation reviews.

    To be successful in your application, you will have a relevant QS Qualification with extensive knowledge of the technical and statutory regulations regarding building maintenance. You will be a highly organised individual and an effective leader. Your previous work experience will include a technical role in the "as-built" environment such as facilities maintenance.


  • Travel within the local Wakefield region will be required for visiting client sites. Valid UK Driving licence is required.
