Full Job Description
The Senior Facilities Manager is responsible for technical, on call and day to day support to the discovery drive facility in Cambridge, this role will maintain a building service bias and lead all reactive, planned and preventative services across the building. This position reports to the Global Workplace Director and is part of the Workplace leadership team located in Cambridge and will be based on site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Planning, safety and preventative maintenance of building infrastructure or manufacturing/production equipment and systems.
- All planned, preventative, reactive and project works are co-ordinated by and through this role.
- Management of all small works.
- Line management of a small technical team spanning hard and soft facilities services.
- Managing key relationships with senior stakeholders based on site in Cambridge.
- Manage helpdesk and project lists to maintain compliance with key performance indicators.
5 years or more experience in a similar role responsible for facilities services. - Degree level/full apprenticeship qualified or experience.
- 5 years Mechanical or Electrical 'senior engineer' level experience
- Familiar with the laboratory environment, and associated equipment and systems related to the facility 'type'. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Lab instrumentation, equipment maintenance.
- Project management of infrastructure works
- Managing KPI's associated with outsourced service providers
