Full Job Description

This post is a full-time position to provide support to the maxillofacial team and the successful candidate will support the maxillofacial consultants with the day to day running of the department. The position is supported by an StR and DCT2. They will provide supervised outpatient pre-operative assessment, outpatient reviews and in-patient ward cover. In theatres, there is considerable supervised hands on experience in pediatric maxillofacial procedures The appointee will also be required and actively encouraged to be part of ongoing clinical audit and research within the department. There will be an element of independent working in both theatres and outpatients.

There are strong links with numerous other departments including ENT, the Cleft and Craniofacial teams, Plastic Surgery, Dermatology. Rheumatology and the Interventional Radiologists allowing combined working and wide exposure to head and neck paediatric conditions.

The Maxillofacial and Dental department at Great Ormond Street Hospital lies within the Sight and Sound . The department provides maxillofacial surgery, orthodontic services, paediatric and restorative dentistry within the Trust. Over 5000 patients are seen annually as outpatients within the department. £56,923 to £64,288 a year (basic salary range) per annum
